    Biography

    Matthew Johnson is Guardtime’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and responsible for the direction of Guardtime’s Information Assurance solutions, technology roadmap, and service delivery. As an Information and Software Assurance firm, Matthew is responsible for shaping Guardtime’s solutions in massive-scale digital asset authentication. Guardtime is a global firm and is commencing its next phase of growth across a number of transformative initiatives including Attributed Networking, Cloud, Connected Vehicles, Mobility, Big Data Security, Defense, Internet of Things, and Trusted Computing and Storage.

    Presently, Matthew also serves to support a number of technical and industry advisory boards including Ericsson, the United States National Institute of Standards, the EU Cloud Steering Group, and the United States Congress on data protection, privacy and cyber security strategies.

    Matthew also supports several technical investment review boards including those at several United States National Laboratories. In these efforts, Matthew advises on Information Assurance and cyber-security and integrity investments and provides advocacy to the US Department of Defense and US Federal Agencies.

    Matthew is a distinguished veteran of the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations. During his military career, he performed Cyber Incident Response and vulnerability testing and assessment of nationally critical networks. In this role, he was assigned exclusively to support the United States Air Force. He utilized his expertise developing protocols, tools, and policies to protect some of the United States most acquisition efforts and infrastructure delivery mechanisms.

    Mr. Johnson holds a B.S. in Statistical Sciences/Behavioral Analysis from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO and a M.S. in Information Assurance from Norwich University in Northfield, VT with a focus on cryptographic security technologies. Mr. Johnson holds numerous cyber-related certifications and lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
