From 2000 to 2005 Filipp studied at the Tallinn University of Technology (Faculty of Information Technology, Computer and Systems Engineering). He received a bachelor of science degree in 2005. Bachelor's degree thesis topic was "Hybrid walking robot".
From 2005 to 2008 Filipp continued his education at the Tallinn University of Technology (Faculty of Information Technology, Computer and Systems Engineering) and received master of science degree in 2008. M.Sc thesis topic was "Research and development of the walking legged robot ".
Presently Filipp continues his doctoral studies at Tallinn University of Technology. Main topic of the studies is research and development of the walking robot. Research covers overall construction principles of the robot and all normal operation procedures of a legged robot such as gait generation, gait execution, adjustment to changing conditions, fault detection, recovery from incidents and overall reconfiguration after loss of leg or legs. Proposed setup is aimed at low-cost, low-weight solution that decreases the complexity of construction, reduces development time and lowers overall cost of production of a robot.
From 2005 to 2011 Filipp was employed by Fujitsu Services AS, Estonia, Tallinn as a Head of Software Development and QA Department.
Since January 2012 Filipp was employed by Skype as a Manager, Quality Tools and Services team. Currently Filipp is a Senior Program Manager at Skype, Microsoft focusing on engineering tools for quality assurance.
