The IT Paradigmologist
This interactive ‘talkshop’ will help you improve the relationship and interaction between application development and IT operations so that both ‘parties’ work more effectively towards common business goals. After a short introduction, the participants will explore possibilities for both application development and IT operations to improve how they collaborate. Some groups will take the IT operations perspective, while others will explore application development. They will define the top desired behaviours for IT operations, and the top desired behaviours for application development. These findings will be published in a follow-up blog. Logistics: The session starts with a 10 minute introductory presentation followed by 15 minutes of parallel sub-group discussions about the topic, rounded off by 10 minutes ‘report out’ by the sub-groups, followed by conclusions and Q&A.; The room will be split down the middle, dividing the audience into application development and IT operations. Then the two halves will be asked to form sub-groups of about 5 people each by organically turning to face their neighbours (the room should therefore have chairs that are not connected to each other). Each sub-group will appoint a spokesperson who takes notes and reports back to the plenary group after the discussion.
