The IT Paradigmologist
This is a slightly quirky outside-in talk from a Dutch IT management community. DevOps brought Agile’s value proposition closer to the users by speeding up deployment (and more!). Yet no value is realized until the users actually use well-conceived systems well. This is often the weakest link, so we need to extend our reach. By closing the circle, enterprises get a better return on their investments. The title ‘Kill DevOps’ refers to an ancient Zen saying about a monk’s road to enlightenment and awakening. If you think that you’ve found it, think again, because you never will. It’s about the journey. The parallel with DevOps is that it’s about continuous experimentation and evolution. It’s a mind-set that helps you deal with uncertainty, not a predetermined process. This simple ‘mantra’ is my first major point.
